Overview
Lexcel is the practice management standard developed and
accredited by the Law Society of England & Wales. Click here to

The Lexcel Standard is a quality accreditation developed
specifically for the Legal Sector, which is only awarded to those
firms and in-house legal departments who meet the highest
management and customer care standards. Assessment North East is
licensed by the Law Society to perform Lexcel assessments.
Lexcel accredited practices undergo rigorous independent
assessment every year to ensure they meet and maintain required
standards in areas such as risk management, client care, and case
management.

New Standard - Lexcel v5
The Lexcel Standard is continually being revised and updated to
maximise consistency and incorporate essential requirements, whilst
ensuring it remains relevant to all legal practices. The most up to
date version is v5.
- Compliance with v5 is optional for assessments taking place
from 1st January 2012.
- All assessments taking place from 1st July
2012 must be against v5.
